Comment Spammed by a Psychopath

I'm getting comment spammed by someone by the name of Dennis Markuze. He goes by several alias', and has many accounts that he uses to spam people.
These are some of the names he uses: Dennis Markuze, Dave Mabus, davabus, dathesm, davidmabus, davmab11, DM.
These are some of his email addresses: dmabus@mail.com, davidms@mail.com, dmab@lavabit.com.

This man is a bonafide psychopath, and has sent multiple death threats to PZ Myers,  and has expressed his desire to kill all atheists. So until this dangerous, psychotic, pathetic, cancerous excuse for a human being stops spamming me, I'm putting on comment filters, so all comments will have to be approved by myself first. I wish google would put in a feature that allowed me to block individual users/IP addresses.

Oh, and he's from Canada.

  1. This clown is spamming my blog too, and I've taken the same measure in response to his nonsense.

  2. Um, even if you can't block it, can you *get* his IP adress?
If so, just contact his ISP.
Of course, he's probably using a proxy, but worth attempting anyway.

  3. His personal information is posted all over the internet if anyone wanted to find it. Here's his IP address if anyone wanted it. 72.12.103.179
Apparently sending death threats is not a crime, so technically he hasn't done anything wrong yet.

  4. Spamming has got to be a violation of his ISP's Terms of Service.

  5. Proper email spam is illegal in several countries. Leaving comments on blogs and forums is not I'm afraid.

  6. I'm not talking about the law, I'm talking about the ISP's terms of service.

A few years back, I worked together with a spammer on GameFAQs forums out of boredom. He was far more notorious, and his ISP (an Australian one) got reported to, and disconnected him. Of course, he was back on within a few days through another ISP, but that shows, even if it's not illegal, some ISPs will take action. It's worth a mention (of your personal case, don't bother with the general stuff, just mention on your blog specifically) just in case.

  8. It may of may not be illegal, and it may or may not be against his ISP's ToS, but it's damn sure petty; I wonder if he thinks he's doing God's work?
