"Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but...will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.”—Marcus Aurelius
EDIT: This quote is a fabrication, please refer to my recent post on the issue HERE
I think this might be a great reply to the infamous Pascal's Wager...
ReplyDeleteIt sure is! And it was written over 1000 years before Pascal.

ReplyDeleteI'm looking back through David's links and have concluded that he is either
ReplyDeleteA) He is mentally deficient
B) A terribly non-native speaker
C) A troll
D) All of the above?
I tried reading his ramblings but it just made me sad how much a person can write without getting any kind of message across except "I'M ANGRY!"
Yup, I'm just going to remove the content of his post now though. It's nearly 4 pages of nonsense to scroll through, his ramblings seem to be getting longer.
ReplyDeleteAmen to the last two points of the quote.
ReplyDeleteBut this:
"If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by."
...is a very hopeful assumption. But if believing that let's a man sleep at night, good for him :D
P.S. You're attracting quite an audience bro! Google "unden" - you're top hit :)
I dont think so...I did not understand of what ther writer want about...
ReplyDeleteTrust in Jehovah with all of your hearts (Proverbs 3: 5)
ReplyDeletethat would require that the bible is trustworthy and that there was a god named jehovah as well.
